JAISALMER- MY DESERT EXPERIENCE IN SAND DUNES

During my school days studying about the Deserts and sands was very interesting for me. I had no idea what would a desert actually feel as it being a very dry place.
The curiosity was always there and as we say everything happens at its right time. Working in travel industry I got many opportunities to explore different places. And Yes this time Jaisalmer the Golden city in the heart of Thar Desert.
Rajasthan is famous for its Royal Rajput Historical Forts, Palaces with rich culture and traditions , amazing authentic food and colorful festivals. But there's something more about Rajasthan that is dry land with sands.

This dry land is now one of the most famous places to visit in India. The tourists visit from all over the world for the main attraction of Jaisalmer ,  the Sand Dunes located at the outskirts of the city.
Today I will share my amazing experience staying in Sand Dunes of Jaisalmer city of Rajasthan.
In the month of December enjoying a deserty drive finally reached our destination by noon. The distance by road  from Jaisalmer is 45 kms to the Sand Dunes.
The warm welcome with garland and a  welcome drink reflected the tradition and hospitality of beautiful Rajasthani culture.
The whole idea was great and was super excited to have a look inside the luxury tent and exprience the night and feel the sand.
The Tent was more like a spacious room with great facility and with a neat modern style washrooms attached to every tent. It was very comfortable and relaxing.
After settling ourselves it was time for the evening Camel ride.
The camel ride was going to be very  exciting as this was my first time . Getting on camel is not that easy let me tell you but I made it . The long camel ride in desert with sunset view was a magical experience. Really enjoyed the sunset with cool breeze.

It is hard to express how much you are in love with that moment. It was so much fun walking and feel the sand.
It gets cold as desert sand gets cooled so can carry light sweater just in case.
It was now time for dinner which was arranged in a special way.The dinner was good and I could feel the taste of local food with live Folk dance and songs. Bonfire with cultural programs made this evening unforgettable.
The Desert Sand Dunes is a best budget camping and must not be missed.
The COST of one night stay is aprox  Indian Rs 5000 per night which includes breakfast and dinner with cultural programs.

The best time to visit is during October to March and Book in advance.
This has been my life time experience  enjoyed each and every moment with a feel of an open village with a lot to know about Rajasthani music , food and it's culture.
The best place be it family, Friends or evening with your loved ones.
I am definitely looking forward to visit again.
